Requirements:

NQF 4 qualification / Trade test certificate.
Wireman license an added advantage
3-5 years’ plant maintenance experience.
Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and electrical drawings.
Good working knowledge of single phase and 3 phase electrical equipment, and general electrical installations.
Ability to build and repair electrical and pneumatic circuits.
Knowledge of production processes, i.e. paint plant, etc.
Knowledge of different machine types, e.g. cranes, pumps, conveyors, chillers, boilers, etc.
Ability to perform various types of welding i.e. arc, Mig, etc.
PLC fault-finding
Ethernet understanding.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Working knowledge of building maintenance.
Willingness to work shifts and overtime whenever required.

Responsibilities:

Performing routine, planned and breakdown maintenance on machines.
Identifying and responding to/reporting potential problems and safety hazards.
Selecting, using and maintaining various tools.
Performing breakdown maintenance operations on PLCs, VSDs, motors, temperature control systems, etc.
Ensuring scheduled maintenance plan is adhered to.
Ensuring that all electrical installations and equipment are maintained in accordance with the current regulations.
Timeous response to machine breakdowns, quick diagnosis of problems, and quick execution of solutions in order to reduce downtime.
Maintaining critical spares for the various machines, i.e. PLCs, pumps, drives, etc.
Ensuring all maintenance work and repairs are in line with the company’s standards.
Assisting maintenance and production team with TPM implementation. (Asset Care).
Effective management of the allocated maintenance budget.
Ensuring ongoing building maintenance programs are carried out, i.e. lighting, etc.
Training apprentices
Ensuring 5S System (housekeeping) and safe working standards are adhered to at all times by the maintenance team.
Attending to Electrical and Mechanical maintenance work and any other relevant duties assigned.
