MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION
Ensure maximum reliability of all equipment.
Maintain all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Keep maintenance standards.
Ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in speedy re-commissioning of the plant during breakdowns or shutdowns.
Ensure Electrical standards maintained.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fault finding (Electrical and Mechanical), repairing and replacing of equipment by following recognised and safe procedures.
Overhaul spare / old machinery to be available when breakdowns occur
Participation in daily tasks such as maintenance, inspections, construction and meetings as per supervisor’s instructions.
Perform standby duties as per Standard Operation Procedures.
Assist in the department’s housekeeping.
Perform ‘lock-out’ by following written procedures.
Carry out air conditioning maintenance.
Report to the Supervisor when the plant has to be stopped to rectify a fault.
Participate in the company’s Safety Programme by adhering to safety regulations and attending safety meetings.
Propose modifications to equipment for better performance or safety improvements to the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Matric (Grade 12)
Millwright trade test certificate (essential) and minimum 2 years’ experience as a Millwright in a manufacturing, mining, construction and or engineering industry
PLC experience (Siemens advantageous)
Reading and understanding of Electrical and Mechanical Drawings

TECHNICAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Computer literate (word, excel, access)
Knowledge & Experience in pneumatics
Knowledge of Safety Rules and Regulations
Good knowledge of electrical equipment
