A reputable and growing service and repair engineering company is seeking a top-notch Millwright to join their team of experts. An individual with sound experience and knowledge of repairs, refurbishment and installation of large 2 and 4 stroke marine vessel engines would suit this position well.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to mentor and guide apprentices through their apprenticeship program. In addition, the position offers both regional and international travel.

What will you be doing in the role?

Perform installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical shipboard and auxiliary equipment
Commissioning of new installations
Supervise junior staff
Align machines and equipment
Connect power unit to machines or steam piping to equipment
Test unit to evaluate its mechanical operation
Replace defective parts of machine
Adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts

The employee must be prepared to work in several different areas both in and outside of South Africa

Qualifications:
Qualified Millwright as a minimum
5+ years’ experience in repairs, maintenance, refurbishment and installation of auxiliary equipment, turbo machinery or marine vessel engines
