Mine Cost & Production Accountant – outside of Gauteng
B Comm Degree Accounting
Minimum of 5 years general financial experience
Minimum of 3 years general cost and production experience in the mining industry IS Essential
Advanced Computer Literacy in MS Office Suite
Accounting / Management Accounting systems experience (AccPac & Essbase) –
Driver’s license essential
Must be prepared to relocate to all areas
Perform management accounting functions of the applicable mining operation.
Analyse, control and manage information by using appropriate accounting techniques and systems to determine and recommend various alternatives to ensure viability and profitability for current and future scenarios
Consolidate and prepare all costing budget and management information to head office and management on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Consolidate, report monthly capital expenditure variances
Co-ordinate, compile quarterly capital requirements for head office
Co-ordinate the analyses and interprets variance, budget and cost reports, in order to evaluate actual performance against plans and the effects of external factors on cost
Ensure the processing of internal and external ad hoc queries
Manage the finalization and accumulation of costing information to make adjustments
Co-ordinate process of closing and balancing the financial records at period end (Income Statement at period ends)
Deliver financial deliverables and reporting requirements as per agreed deadlines
Ensure data integrity of information on the AccPac and E-Workflow systems
Ensure effective cash flow management to ensure attainment of organizational targets
Ensure personal and co-worker adherence and compliance to Security and Company HSE objectives
Ensure reconciliations are prepared, reviewed in order to ensure correct recording of cost
Develop, implement, streamline and maintain the necessary financial strategies, policies and procedures
Manage the financial/procurement team through hands-on management and applying industry best practices
Manage payroll and/or HR errors that have occurred during interfacing operations after the final payroll run
Play an integral part in the operational performance of the mine by providing a complete and fully functional financial service to all stakeholders
Prepare and present applicable financial information to HODs and management
Provide a service to all workflow users on a daily basis
Provide assistance to all AccPac modules and co-ordinate and handle all system related queries on all modules within the AccPac and E-Workflow system
Responsible of preparation and assistance of the auditing process
Responsible in providing a service to budget holders and HODs on a daily basis
Responsible managing all system related issues (on-mine and external consultants)
Responsible to play an integral role on the Management Team and together drive operational performance and achieve the approve operational deliverables and targets
Review capital expenditure - forecasts to ensure alignment with business strategy
