• Grade 12 / N2 Certificate
• Qualified Fitter Trade Certificate through a recognised Institution and Apprenticeship**
• Minimum 3 years post Apprenticeship (qualification) experience
• Experience in a Plant environment – please indicate on CV
• Valid Drivers’ License
Responsible for the following:
• Diagnose faults and perform maintenance of machines
• Quality control of spares and equipment
• Assemble and fit fabricated parts into equipment using precisions measuring instruments
• Management of consumable stock levels (amongst others, spares and hydro carbons)
• Service equipment for optimal availability and performance
• Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components, referring to service manuals
• Perform risk assessments (Activity based and Mini)
• Cutting, theorizing, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
• Erecting machines and equipment on-site
• Overhauling and repairing of mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
• Trade related administration
• Study drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
• to achieve specified tolerances
• Conduct on-the-job training for allocated apprentices
• Participate in planning shutdowns, resources, tools and spares relevant to the shutdown activities
