THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL:
§ Degree/ National Higher Diploma (T4) / S4 National Diploma/ N6 Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (with GCC Mines and Works)§ Management qualification (MDP/Leadership)§ 5 years (in total) Operational Engineering experience§ 5 years Maintenance Management experience (legal appointment 2.13.1/2.13.3.1)§ 3 years Project Management experience§ 3 years (up to 5) Operational Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure COMPETENCIES REQUIRED ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Job Specification
ALTHOUGH NOT LIMITED TO, THE INCUMBENT WILL REPORT TO THE HOD: ENGINEERING SERVICES AND THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:§ Implement and prepare short, medium and long term maintenance service plans.§ Implement and sustain asset management strategy in line with the mine’s standards.§ Develop and implement technical standards and quality assurance systems to optimize integrity of maintenance processes.§ Conduct regular inspections; report contraventions in terms of the Minerals Act, Mine Health & Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of practice, instructions, permissions, exemptions, etc. to the Business Manager; conduct accident and incident investigations; ensure full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Management System, Mine Safety Management System and perform relevant ad hoc duties (e.g. accompany DMR officials on Engineering inspections, complete relevant reports, etc).§ Monitor Mine Engineering legal compliance of all Regulations, Acts, Procedures, Standards, Codes of Practices and instructions.§ Advise management on corrective actions to ensure compliance.§ Implement / maintain the Mine Safety Management System.§ Assist with the provision and guidance with training on all relevant Engineering procedures, COP’s, Standards, DMR guidelines and regulations to management and employees.§ Lead ICAM investigations and make recommendations to management on the prevention of similar accidents.§ Conduct legal inspections and submit reports to management on deviations and good practices observed.§ Assist with the compilation of risk assessments.§ Accompany client Inspectors on visits relevant to your area of responsibility.§ Assist in client accident enquiries.§ Close out Engineering audit findings, actions and incidents (PIVOT).§ Follow up on engineering audit reports, action plans and incident reports.§ Coordination, preparing and submitting working cost and capital budgets and analysis and reviewing on a monthly basis.§ People management - Manage own team’s performance
