Our client, a leading Gold and Platinum Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Mine Overseer at their Platinum facility at the Simunye operation near Rustenburg in the North West Province.

The appointee should:

Hold a relevant/ valid Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous Mines) and currently carry a legal appointment as a mine overseer
Be in possession of a medical fitness certificate to work in the mining industry or be able to pass the company’s entry medical examination and a Baseline Audiogram result
Be in possession of a valid driver’s license
Have good interpersonal and motivational skills
Be diplomatic yet assertive, with excellent reporting competencies
Have unquestionable integrity and work ethic
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Platinum occupational health centre

Advantageous requirements:

Relevant experience in a Production Mine Overseer role
Post-graduate qualification in Business Management
Sound knowledge of trackless underground environment
Proven knowledge of running a production section
Exceptional safety record
Above average production performance record
Mine Managers Certificate
Instilling sound employee relations within groups of employees
Good medium and long term planning skills

Manage a section with all related legislative requirements
Meeting safety and production targets
