Taking full control of and responsibility for an underground production drill and blast section i.e. in terms of section 2.14.1 of the Mines Health & Safety Act;
Planning and budgeting for the production section, including Labour planning, allocation and manning;
Assisting management in the execution of critical and SIB projects within the area of responsibility, as may be determined from time to time;
Ensuring that safety, production and cost targets are met on a monthly basis for the allocated area of responsibility;
Managing Labour and discipline within the area of responsibility, to achieve optimum results;
Managing and controlling the fleet equipment to achieve the desired results;
Be willing to go the extra mile when required, to ensure that systems are in place to enable the production teams to achieve optimum results.

Minumum Requirements:

Be in possession of a Matric / Grade 12 Qualification or Equivalent;
Be in possession of a Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency;
Have at least 5 years’ experience in deep level mining as well as TM3 experience;
Have knowledge of relevant legislation in respect of the Mine Health & Safety Act;
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the Companies Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test.
