A vacancy for a Mine Overseer Production, to be based at Northern Cape

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent will be responsible to co-ordinate the mining activities for the Production Load & Haul Section.
This person will be responsible to review and assess Mine plans to achieve the production targets and to comply with relevant statutory requirements (MHSA).

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interact with all mining disciplines
Drive production and maintenance
Monitor production schedules and allocations of resources
Ensure maintenance management system are in place
Develop and maintain a document management system to ensure efficient storage and access of information
Work according to the Mine’s policies and procedures and to ensure adherence to Code of Practice and report deviations
Manage and assess the quality or work performed by staff and contractors, where applicable
Ensure adherence and compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental processes and systems

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Mine Overseers or Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous Mining)
Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines
At least five (5) years’ underground mining experience
Three (3) year’s underground mining experience in a supervisory capacity
Valid driver’s license
Competent in MS Office Suite
