Job Description:

Providing technical assistance and mentorship to the mining section
Mitigate as the Mine Planning Manager when the need arises
Mentoring and coaching of Mining Engineering students/graduates
Designing and scheduling the Life of the Mine
Guiding start- up operations at a partially developed mine in order to maintain the production while keeping the long term project in mind
Development of the mining strategy and annual business plan
Timely completion of stope and development plans to support production and safety requirements
Generation of mining concepts and layouts
Assisting the scheduling engineer with the weekly, monthly and annual production schedules
Providing the necessary input for the annual Resource & Reserve statement/s
Managing monthly planning & set meetings with the required production teams
Assist with presentation to management on alternative layouts, site-specific decisions, engineering, project progress, cash flows and capital estimates and applications for expenditure
Assisting with different value adding projects as required

Minimum Requirements:

Bsc/BEng in Mine Engineering
5 Years working experience within the mining industry/environment
Candidate must be in possession of a Blasting Ticket & must be able to obtain a certificate to prove medical fitness
Valid Code B driving licence
Working knowledge of 3D Mining, planning and scheduling software
A Mine Managers certificate of competency will be an added advantage
