Job Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible to develop Mine closure and rehabilitation strategies for the Group.
Minimum Requirements:
• B Sc Hons in Environmental Management
• 5 years’ experience in Mine rehabilitation and closure projects
• Advanced computer skills and experience (MS Office)
• Valid driver’s license (EB/08)
• Conversant with relevant environmental legislation – Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, National Environmental Management Act, Department of Water Affairs guidelines
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Develop Mine closure and rehabilitation strategies, policies and procedures for the Petra Group
• Perform gap analysis for each Operation in terms of their closure and rehabilitation strategy
• Ensure each Operation has a Mine closure plan and concurrent rehabilitation strategies
• Perform land functionality assessments and intervene with appropriate action plans
• Provide support to Operations for the implementation of rehabilitation plans
• Ensure adherence to legislative requirements

• Able to deal with all levels of internal and external customers
• Ability to take initiative, to work both independently and as part of a team
