A well established mine is currently recruiting for a Miner (Long Hole Charging) In the Northern Cape area

Position Purpose:

This job requires the individual to achieve production targets effectively by planning the mining operations and utilising resources efficiently within safety and legal constraints.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/or NQF Level 3 (relevant to position)
  • Valid Permanent Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines / Underground Hard Rock Level 3 Certificate of Competency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 5 years underground experience as a Long Hole/Charging Miner essential
  • Computer Literate in MS Office Suite
  • Completion of a Supervisory Development Programme – an advantage
  • Trained and competent on electronic timing and blasting technique will be an advantage
  • Competent to operate U-105/U-117 charging vehicles – please indicate on CV
  • Experience and knowledge of Auto Mine – an advantage

 

Responsibilities:

  • Achievement of planned targets
  • Effective utilisation of all mining resources
  • Supervision of crew including training and development
  • Ensure crew adheres to Security and SHE policies and procedures
  • Reporting of all incidents and accidents
  • Work shifts, overtime, standby and be available for call-outs when required
  • Long hole charging and blasting in a block cave undercut and trough opening as well as long hole drilling and loading
