Job Overview:

To manage the company’s Mineral Resource and Reserve estimations. Undertake and ensure accuracy in the estimation of orebody grade and resource tonnages using statistical and geostatistical methods. accountable for the disciplines of Geology, Survey, Planning, Rock Engineering and Mine Planning.Participate in due diligence reviews.

Job Description:

Develop, manage and monitor ore reserves and resources and make recommendations to executive management on access to additional reserves and resources
Life of Mining Right plans and scenarios aligned with strategic intent and existing business planning.
Establishing and managing budgets, monitoring production output and costs, and adjusting processes and resources to minimize costs.
Database design and input validation
QA/QC validation
Modelling of orebodies and geology
Mineral Resource estimation
Sign off of Mineral Resource estimations
Technical report writing with presentations to Executives.
Mineral Resource/Reserve/Mine production reconciliation studies
Due diligence investigations (local and abroad) and undertaking geological and resource modelling for new projects
Planning details of production activities in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 15 - 20 years geology/mining related experience of which 7 years is in geological modelling and geostistical estimation
BSc (Honours) degree in Geology
GDE or equivalent statistical and geostatistical training
Extensive Datamine software experience (Studio RM and Strat3D)
Experience in using geostatistical packages e.g. Snowden Supervisor
SACNASP registered
Extensive insight into the codes regulating mineral resources and reserves (e.g. SAMVAL, SAMREC).
Working experience in mining and exploration geology with a good knowledge of survey, draughting, rock engineering, mine planning and mine scheduling practices is essential.
