The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and manage the commissioning of all equipment and infrastructure for underground and processing (mine to mill) and ensuring that assets and systems are delivered and personnel are in place to realize the ramp-up value as well as full potential business case
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Support contract development to ensure Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning (PC&C) activities are adequately covered and aligned in contract terms.
• Align contractors and key stakeholders with regard to agreement on boundaries, roles, and responsibilities for PC&C activities.
• Develop detailed commissioning and handover plans and specifications in consultation with the contractors and operations teams
• Develop and manage commissioning packages to ensure physical measure and performance of the overall system
• Manage all commissioning stages (cold, hot, product and final certification) and ensure that each stage satisfies the certification requirement and criteria
• Identify resource requirements during each commissioning stage, and for each work package, and ensure recruitment and selection of qualified systems’ completion leads and turnover candidates are adequate to meet those requirements.
• Direct the commissioning and acceptance approach for Assets, and the associated Asset Management and Operating processes.
• Design and direct systems that deliver improved business performance through optimising synergies between and within operations, ensuring consistent and capable operational performance.
• Lead systems completion database organization and design including definition of system boundaries, creation of systems completions packages, population of testing requirements, and automatic status reporting for all.
• During detailed design, lead PC&C team to identify requirements for pre-commissioning and commissioning of modular systems to ensure minimization of testing requirements offshore and optimization of testing at fabrication facilities.
• Identify key interfaces between contractors, technical disciplines, or operating facilities and facilitate alignment between parties, including tie-ins between project phases and existing facilities.
• Review and assist with development of contractor and key suppliers testing and commissioning plans and ensure PC&C testing is adequate, does not miss key interfaces, and is documented properly and systematically, including required owner’s test witnessing requirements.
• Lead review of spare parts requirements for PC&C and steady state phase.
• Liaise with management to ensure requirements for PC&C works are clearly understood by PC&C teams and that plans and schedules reflect SIMOPS restrictions for works conducted offshore and offsite.
• Liaise with management to identify specialized training that may be performed during Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning works.
• Steward owner’s costs associated with Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Activities.
• Produce Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning status reports detailing progress and key issues which may need elevation to resolve.

• Analysing mining and refining technical, organisational and business systems as the basis for improvement strategy development and implementation.
• Experience in developing and implementing corporate planning, production and cost management systems.
• Leadership role in occupational safety and health in heavy industry
• Knowledge of computer programs and general database organization and design software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience
Pr Eng registered
• Bachelor of Science Degree in related Engineering discipline
• PMI PMP preferable
• Post graduate qualifications in Business Management; Finance; or Project Management (advantageous).
• Minimum 10 years of experience with engineering with the following skills
