Location: Midrand, Gauteng

Description: A company selling analytical laboratory equipment requires a National Sales Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Sales Director. Duties includes but is not limited to: responsible for the sales quotas and objectives and the management of sales representatives in South African territory; understand financial data and maximize the present and long term sales and gross profit and overheads for the territories; plan, organise, direct and control sales staff to meet sales targets and day to day management of the sales representatives representing the South African territories; offer sales representative subordinates coaching counselling, advice, support, motivation or information they need in meeting their sales objectives; plan, organise, direct and control sales staff to meet sales objectives; responsible for the recruiting, training and development of the sales force; responsible for the timely periodic sales forecasting, for internal purposes; manage the CRM system to meet synchronisation and other deadlines and as well as to also meet objectives and expectations of Agilent; assist in setting the sales strategies, sales objectives, budgets for the territory; maintain an understanding of the technical aspects of the products; liaise with supplier responsible personnel on all sales and marketing related topics and obligations; liaise with Support and Administration management and teams to ensure the big picture approach to managing the business; management of the travel expenses of all sales personnel in the territory and controlling of expense budgets; liaise on salary administration for all subordinates.

Key Requirements: A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related fields. Minimum 10 years’ experience in Analytical Instrument sales; 3 years’ Sales Management experience managing at least 3 sales personnel; an intimate knowledge of the Southern African Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry and Spectroscopy markets. Valid driver’s license.

Remuneration: Market related.
