National Market Access Specialist, must be a qualified Registered Nurse

A Pharmaceutical Company (based in the North of Johannesburg) has a vacancy for a National Market Access Specialist – must be a qualified Registered Nurse.
This position is a 12 month contract position.

The Access Specialist is required to act as an ambassador for the company, by providing the required service to relevant Health Care Providers (HCP), who is trying to gain access, on their patients’ behalf, to a Company-specific medication.

Manage all Hospital authorizations and motivations, by assisting relevant specialist’ practices
-Include management of HCP and patient database – track consent to ensure that patient consent is obtained and confidentiality is maintained to ensure that all paperwork is timeously disposed of, in accordance with company compliance regulations
-Customer relationship building: Customized support tailored to suit each hospital groups’ needs
-Travel to each major centre (ie: Cape Town, PE, Bloemfontein and Durban), to meet the hospital case managers and or clinical pharmacists, to build relationships and ensure that the process is working and to iron out any issues
-Require prioritization of hospitals (both in Gauteng and the above areas)
-Advisory capacity to PSRs for preparation of territory business plans, via Hospital SMs, and contributes towards the execution, around access, in line with the brand marketing strategies
-Attending training sessions, local meetings as relevant – to be identified by hospital SMs
-Assist in upskilling new team members (reps) as to how the process works and what type of information and support and who to get it from - to complete the Letter of Motivation (LoM)

Key Performance Outputs
• Develop comprehensive working knowledge of the various medical funders, hospitals; HCP and other stakeholders that pertain to achieving access
• Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of current issues and trends in the pharmaceutical environment and the implications for the Company business
• Appropriate customer information is identified, collected, analyzed and shared with the relevant sales representative on a weekly and monthly basis, or as agreed

Minimum Requirements
Registered Nurse qualification (non-negotiable)
A valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Proficient in written and spoken English
At least 3 years’ experience working with healthcare funders and a good understanding of the SA managed healthcare environment
At least 3 years’ exp in assisting a team of reps and HCP in generating Letters of Motivation, for doctor to use at a funder level to allow patient access to requested medication
