National Marketing Manager

Location: Woodstock, Cape Town
Salary: Negotiable plus annual performance bonus

Requirements:
5+ years' experience in a senior marketing role.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing or communication.
Experience with restaurant (food and beverage) an advantage.
Experience with franchising/franchise brands an advantage.
Must have experience in building brands, managing budgets and costs.
Experience in project management.
Experience in managing all aspects of digital marketing.
Proven ability and experience in managing advertising processes - managing advertising and design agencies, approving creative work and costs.
Proficiency in Google Drive, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prioritise and manage several tasks at once and work effectively under pressure.
Exceptional attention to detail, strong creative thinking and execution of innovative ideas.
Extensive experience in PR, eventing, digital, in-store and above-the-line communication and responsible for the management and execution of these platforms.
Great attitude with a passion for building brands and the ability to motivate others.
Hard working, highly organised, positive, and fun.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage with team members, suppliers and business partners in a professional manner.

Duties:
Grow the brand on a national scale through consistent and effective marketing initiatives.
Maximise company revenue through effective marketing initiatives.
Provide strategic input into overall business development.
Work with and guide partner companies (agencies, suppliers etc.) to maximise and leverage the brand’s presence in the market.
Develop and maintain marketing strategies and action plans to meet business objectives.
Manage all brand communication including overseeing all marketing, advertising, branding and promotional activities and staff.
Liaise with head office departments and franchisees on all marketing related activities.
Work closely with franchisee business owners to add value to their businesses by understanding and assisting with their marketing needs.
Provide value to business owners by constantly remaining abreast of new industry developments, competitor activities and identifying opportunities for brand and sales growth.
To develop and control the national brand strategy and calendar plan.
Managing, training and leading subordinates within the marketing team.
To translate key customer insights and current restaurant trends into great in-restaurant concepts.
Development of briefs and approval of marketing material.
Working closely and ensuring co-ordination with other head office departments like Operations, Training, IT and Menu Development.
Good leadership with agency partners to produce innovative and effective marketing communication.
Ongoing negotiations with partners and suppliers to ensure best prices and service are received.
To drive the creation, implementation and management of all marketing initiatives including national promotions, branding, new store launches, CRM, PR, incentives, digital, social media and local store marketing.
Managing marketing budgets tightly and securing increased income for the marketing fund through actively seeking brand sponsorship.
Ability to develop lasting relationships and simultaneously manage many suppliers, agencies and franchisees with rapport.
