Our client is a National Retail Company in the Clothing Industry. The brand has a successful 20 year history and its target market is the mass lower to middle income end market. As such it seeks to sell low cost clothes operating mainly in small towns and rural areas.

The role of the Store Operations Managers (store ops) is to be responsible day-to-day organising, planning, managing and controlling of the store operations function to deliver performance and conformance in line with the strategy defined by the COO / Company.

1. Successfully managing the affairs of the store operations function against the business plan and in line with the strategic plan;
2. Ensuring the financial targets of the store operations function are achieved;
3. Managing and fostering the store operations team and maintaining the values and culture;
4. Helping to develop, adhere to and maintain effective business systems, policies and procedures that enable business goals to be effectively
achieved; and providing an active and positive influence with relevant stakeholders.
5. In addition, the store operations manager will be responsible for the coordination and running of team meetings in his/her department and
providing feedback to the relevant team members and the COO.

Note: Although the position is based in Durban HO the function is not office-based and will require regular travel to all stores across all regions.

• 5 – 10 years’ experience in the retail industry
• Understanding of financial aspects
• Further Tertiary education in Business Management, Financial or Strategy would be an advantage

This role requires extensive travel and is a senior role reporting to the COO, please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements.
