JOB PURPOSE

Management and control annual marketing and operating expenses within budget. Overall management of the Marketing function and upward reporting thereof. This portfolio will comprise an 65% ‘sales’ orientation and a 35% ‘marketing’ orientation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct
• Achieve sustainable growth targets through meaningful market research
• Formulate and develop strategies to Optimise business within the existing client base, while Developing new business
• Establish key working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to understand financial records and work within pre-agreed budgets
• The candidate must be willing to work outside office hours when required
• Ability to build relationships and networks and stay abreast of the latest trends in the supply chain and logistics sector, particularly as it pertains to global containerisation trends
• Develop new product offerings in tandem with global trends and/or develop innovative new product offering, in conjunction with the GIM executive, ahead of the market i.e. lead with innovative new product offerings
• Ensure all administration, as it pertains to the full product and service offering, is meaningful, effective and efficient at all times

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Develop marketing and promotional strategies, plans and materials
• Develop cross-marketing opportunities within the greater Company in order to improve sales and increase the company's profile
• Conduct analysis of sales and be responsible for the preparation and presentation of reports
• Develop networks of key contacts and customers in target markets
• Negotiate co-operative partnerships with any party which will enhance market penetration
• Develop and manage an online marketing strategy for the company

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Matric/Grade 12
Diploma or Degree Logistics / Purchasing and Supply Management / NQF level 8 qualification
MUST have FMCG industry knowledge
Manufacturing experience a must in the light steel engineering industry or Unilever type of company
A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred, however, good demonstrable and proven practical experience as a results-orientated Sales and Marketing Manager will take precedence
7 – 10 years’ experience in a similar environment (Supply chain and logistics or services on the periphery of this), which incorporates at least 3 years in a similar management position, is essential
Cookware advantageous.

• Must have the ability to lead, motivate, influence and grow market segment. Proactive and visionary ability is key
• Innate influencing ability above average business intellect, adequate numeracy (financial and freight throughputs), but particularly strong on administration. This, coupled with strength of character and energy, represents the ideal profile sought FOR THIS ROLE
