National Sales Director

R1.1 – 1.2 million p.a. + benefits + bonuses
The National Sales Director will use his/her demonstrated sales leadership skills and thorough knowledge of sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth. Outstanding communication, coaching and team building skills are essential for this position.
THE PERSON:
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, an MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• At least 10 years’ experience is required in Senior Sales Management
• A minimum of 5 years of people management in a large team environment is essential.
• Must have proven track record of outstanding team leadership abilities and development of team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Well-developed EQ is essential
THE POSITION:
• Responsible for leading a National Sales team in achievement of its sales targets and financial objectives. Accountable for continuing to elevate competency and leadership capabilities of the sales managers and teams through coaching, people development and creating a culture that drives the strategic agenda.
• Responsible for coaching and developing direct reports and talent within the sales organization.
• Ensure top levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency
• Coordinate forecasting, planning and budgeting processes
• Identify improvement processes
• Direct and support sales initiatives
• Manage and support large sales team (100 employees)
• Drive maximum margin and revenue by implementing business plans nationwide
• Manage key performance metrics on an on-going basis, assessing performance against the business plans and taking corrective actions as required.
• Monitor the accuracy and effectiveness of the distribution of sales reports and other intelligence
• Keep on trend with market incentive compensation programs
• Set annual sales targets nationally
• Represent the company at all industry functions
• Develop and grow new revenue channels and partners
• Together with Marketing, develop and conduct sales campaigns, as well as marketing and promotional plans
