Responsible for leadership of a nationally dispersed Sales team of 30 people.Personally responsible for closing deals with major corporate accounts and the subsequent account management of significant accounts.Millions of Rands Business revenues from a highly diversified customer base.Reports directly to the CEO.

Appropriate business qualifications with high degree of financial literacy. Industry specific experience desirable, but not essential. Experience of having led a National Sales Team in a people intensive operating business in a multi-site environment. Strong leadership qualities and extensive experience of managing change. Likely extensive experience in CRM systems and implementation thereof
Organisation, strategy and Business Development
• Production of a business wide sales and business development strategy that can take the Company to the next level in terms of step change sales growth.
• Responsible for analysis, segmentation and targeting of new high volume national prospects.
• Responsible for spearheading the sales effort to take the Company cross-border.
• Member of the Companies Senior Management Team.
• Responsible for Sales Team mentoring, coaching and performance management in conjunction with the Regional Executives.
• Responsible for ensuring the Company introduces best practice processes, ways of working, tools and systems to establish the company at the forefront of sales thinking.
• Understand, monitor and report on express / courier market and cross - border, trends, competitors, industry segment opportunities – and develop strategy accordingly. Build an unparalleled knowledge of the market and competitor environment in which the company operates.
• Personally account manage major customer groups.
• Act as the champion for best in class customer services provision and work in conjunction with the Regional Executives to deliver this.
• Work hand in hand with Product Executives in sister businesses to evaluate business opportunities.
• Work hand in hand with Sales Executives from the Group businesses in order to develop end-to-end supply chain solutions for customers.

Finance
• Achievement of financial targets – revenue and margin, sales cost control
• Detailed analysis of monthly sales figures for presentation to the CEO.

Operations
• Act as the ‘voice of the customer’ into the Operations function so as to promote and drive innovation and development within the core network.
• Ensure a complete and detailed understanding of all operational processes (collection, tracking, quotations, customer services, domestic and international) of Company
