Network Support Engineer positon
A renowned Internet Service Provider seeks to employ an experienced Network Support Engineer to complement their wide range of services. The position offers a good compensation package which includes, but is not limited to excellent career growth opportunities.
As a network support engineer you'll be responsible for designing, installing and maintaining the communications, file sharing and general IT resources used by the organization.
 
Daily responsibilities:
  • Hardware and software installation (printers, servers, workstations etc.)
  • Setting up user passwords, permissions and accounts
  • Overseeing security of all systems, especially the internet, and installing antivirus   protection
  • Fixing network faults
  • Maintenance of Networks
  • Technical support for network users
  • Staff Training on new systems
  • Monitoring of network use and Day to day admin
  • Suggesting IT solutions to business problems and Planning future improvements
  • Ensuring all IT meets industry standards
  • Supervising of helpdesk staff
 
Essential skills
As well as an in depth knowledge of technology, and the following attributes:

  • Ability to explain technical problems in simple terms

  • Eagerness to learn and to acquire new Knowledge
  • Understanding of the employer’s particular systems
  • In depth knowledge of the four network types (MAN, LAN, GAN and WAN)
 
Requirements
You need at least 3 to 5 year working experience as a network support engineer with a relevant qualification:
  • CompTIA i-Net+ Certification.
  • BTEC National Certificate/Diploma for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support)
  • OCR (iPRO) Certificate for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support) at levels 2 & 3
