Minimum requirements needed for this position:

  • Must have matric or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience where acquisition of new business within the courier/logistics or services industries were the main objective

  • Courier/logistics industry experience will be advantageous

  • Present a proven track record of targets vs. actual achievements within previous roles

  • Ability to negotiate on all decision making levels and close deals

  • Target driven and thrive on prospecting for new business opportunities

  • Must work extremely well under pressure

  • Able to work in a team as well as have the ability to work independently

  • Self-motivated and disciplined

  • Have effective communication skills on all corresponding levels

  • Well presented and professional within overall mannerism

  • Computer literate – MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

  • Have a valid code 08 driver’s licence

  • Own presentable and reliable vehicle

Key Performance Areas:

  • Source new business in line with current business model

  • Ensure target margins are achieved for each new client

  • Analyse clients requirements and prepare quotations accordingly

  • Develop and maintain good client relations to ensure ongoing trade

  • Assist with client queries, claims and accounts payable where/if required

  • Prepare and present monthly reports to clients timeously

  • Update CRM activity

  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports

  • Attend weekly sales meetings

  • Monitor current trends and changes in the market

  • Ensure consistent and updated knowledge of direct competitors

  • Assist with deliveries and collections if/when required

  • Assist in client services and operations if/when required

  • Achieve monthly target

  • Ensure complete coverage of relevant allocated territory to ensure market gain

  • Direct report on sales development activities to sales manager
