An international explosives company based in the Western Cape is looking for a Business DEvelopment Manager.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Responsible for the preparation and compilation of Bids and quotations in
support of International Sales team,

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Primary Functions
• Management of Bid Office team.
• Preparation and compilation of Bids and quotations in support of International Sales Team.
• Provide general business / commercial related support to International Sales Team.
Secondary Functions
• Generate and maintain BD & Sales market and competitor knowledge with an electronic tool.
• Analysis of lost / won bids and lessons learned.
• Generate and maintain price lists.
• Pro-actively engage with internal customers regarding sales related feedback and support.
• Management of the CRM system.
• Billing administration such as penalties, late deliveries etc.
• Keeping record of all agency correspondence, contract renewal, payment structure etc.
• Supporting the Marketing / Sales Managers in various ad-hoc tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Administrative responsibilities around document authentication.

• Need to have good problem-solving skills and prepared to act as a go-between to various departments.

• Solid commercial understanding.
• Be able to demonstrate creativity in the workplace with regards to implementing new processes, streamlining existing processes and meeting deadlines.
• Must be service driven and have experience in building excellent, lasting relationships (both internal and in limited cases external).
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Good interpersonal, conflict management and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Negotiation and diplomacy skills.

POST REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum Commercial Diploma.
• 2 - 5 years’ work experience in Sales Administration / Coordination
• Proven experience in Bid preparations.
• Proven strong Excel skills, PowerPoint and general computer literacy and Microsoft Office suite (including MS Projects).
• Experience and familiarity with Database management tools and CRM
