Project Manager

NGO which provides educational support to a group of schools in the Umzinyathi District of KZN, South Africa.

The objective is to assist schools to improve their academic results.

All income is derived from sponsors and supporters.

Expenditure is targeted at improving educational outcomes in these schools by improving

facilities, equipment, support and teaching in this very rural district.

To implement and manage to a successful conclusion approved projects,

maintaining all records and providing reports as required.

To work within parameters and expectations of the operations in Umzinyathi,

assuming full responsibility for all own actions and understanding of activities and their implications.

Able to control cash, expenditure, receipts and payments and to fully account for same.

Familiarity with the aims of the DBE and the profession and constraints of teaching in a Govt school.

Knowledge of building, building repairs and maintenance.

Ability to prioritize in line with budget and community needs

Ability to communicate in isiZulu an advantage.

Ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English is essential

Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills :

Project Management qualification an advantage.
Prior Project Experience required.
Evidence of the ability to work unsupervised and to implement and manage a wide range of projects,
ensuring that accounting and performance records for each are kept promptly, completely, accurately and separately.
Teaching skills
Fully conversant with IT operations and ability to oversee installations of IT Computer labs.
Ability to analyse needs of school communities and turn results of analyses into recommendations for action.

Salary R 14 000 - R 16 000 including Accommodation, with hard furnishings, will be provided.
