This highly esteemed private hospital is seeking a Night Matron to manage, co-ordinate and monitor the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor bed status and ensure adequate staff acuity
• Conduct ward rounds to assess patient’s condition and ensure handover of unstable patients today staff
• Manage emergency schedule 6 & 7 drugs & ensure adequate stock
• Ensure optimal functioning of nursing operations, including leading, managing and driving the compliance to all the hospital nursing standards, policies and procedures
• Infection control and prevention

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with SANC
• Clinical excellence required inward associated disciplines
• Computer literacy advantageous
• A qualification in Health Service Management would be advantageous
• Have suitable experience, preferably 5 years demonstrable management experience at a senior ward level, which has provided an opportunity to acquire clinical nursing and managerial skills, leadership ability and integrity.
• The ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditions
• The ability to focus and guide employees in the accomplishment of work objectives
• The ability to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities in order to take appropriate action and/or to resolve problems.
