Occupational Health Practitioner

Location: Richard’s Bay, KZN
Salary: R29k per month

Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Nursing science
Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Health nursing
Two years relevant experience
Valid Code B drivers license
Must be computer literate
Applicants must have certificates in the following:
Audiometry
Spirometry
Dispensing license
HIV/Aids counseling course
Basic life support
Current registration with South African Nursing Council
Candidates with the following will have an added advantage:
Certificate in Primary Health + Nursing
Nimart HIV course (certificate in Nurse Initiated Management of Anti-Retroviral Therapy)

Duties:
Provide a professional occupational health care service within a legal and ethical framework
Attend to medical emergencies and injuries-on-duty onsite.
Order medication and control stock for chronic illness through liaison with medical aid and the State Hospital
Assist with pre-placement, periodical, transfer medicals and exit medical examinations as required by legislation
Attend to employees who get injured on duty (emergencies)
Keep records for all schedule medication and conduct routine monthly checks
Organize and liaise with State Hospital with regards to chronic illness medication supplies
Monitor and keep statistics for all chronic illnesses within the group
Liaise and organize the venue for blood donation and health related awareness campaigns
Conduct health promotion talks
