Our client, a leading Diamond Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Occupational Health Nurse at their Cullinan Diamond Mine which is situated in the town of Cullinan 30km east from Pretoria.

Job Description:
Provide total nursing care, as defined in the Standards laid down by the Medical profession. Monitor and maintain environmental, health and hygiene programmes.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist in identifying, developing and providing a comprehensive occupational health program service
Carry out Doctor’s and Occupational Health Practitioner’s (OHP) orders regarding treatment of patients and screening
Carry out monthly consumable stock takes and place orders
Conduct workplace inspections
Deal with all emergencies when required
Maintain patients’ records and confidentiality
Participate during medical incapacity cases, as and when required
Participate in occupational health investigations as and when required, although usually done by the OHP
Provide counselling to patients
Responsible for drug testing
Responsible for legislative requirements
Responsible for providing a primary health care service
Report occupational illness/diseases to the relevant authorities and keep accurate record thereof
Participate in the occupational health risk assessment
General administration duties
Participate in occupational health campaigns

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
Degree : Nursing Science: General: Psychiatry: Community And Midwifery
Diploma : Occupational Health Nursing
Valid Registration with SANC & HPCSA
2 years’ experience in Occupational Health
Valid Registration with SASOHN
Valid Dispensing License
Computer literacy (Critical)

Advantageous:
Valid Audiometry Certificate with instruction 171 update and valid Spirometry Certificate
HIV/Aids Testing and Counselling Certificate
Degree / Diploma in Primary Health Care and/or Primary Clinical Care for Nurses would be advantageous
