JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Responsible for all Infrastructure and Business system applications within the operating group. Accountable for managing the delivery of required information in accordance with operational governance and company policies and frame work. The Information Systems Manager should provide the vision for the overall systems and ensure it continues to meet business goals and objectives.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)
• Leads the development of an annual strategic plan and develops policies for the information systems function while ensuring that it supports the business strategy
• evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs;
• planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness;
• ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to;
• offering users appropriate support and advice;
• managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems;
• keeping up to date with the latest technologies.
• Manages and monitors all projects for the OG so that delivery is on time and within budget.
• Researches, analyses and reports on appropriate application systems and ensures that systems are installed to add value to customers, management teams and the business.
• Cultivates broad, in-depth and global understanding of information system skills in order to offer specialist advice, to the OG..
• Ensures adherence to SHERQ, corporate governance, sustainability, legal and charter compliance.
• Engages in forecasts, plans, budget formulations and execution.
• Ensures resource availability, sustainability and optimization to ensure improved results.
• Establishes strong interpersonal relations with peers, customers, company IT and suppliers.
• Draws up, negotiates and leverages all contracts and service level agreements with major suppliers.
• Lead functional improvement and innovation by regularly scanning the environment for future trends, encouraging ‘out of box’ thinking and driving appropriate company initiatives towards consistent value adding results achievement.
• Ensures individual sub-projects and priorities are in accordance with OG business requirements
• Develops solutions in accordance with a defined implementation methodology.
• Ensure that deliverables are completed on schedule and are presented to the Steering Committee for signoff.
• Ensures timely issue resolution or appropriate escalation of issues.
• Reports project status to the OG ExCo on a regular basis.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• An appropriate professional qualification, ideally a post-graduate business qualification (Honours degree or MBA).

EXPERIENCE:
• A demonstrated track record with regard to effective execution and implementation of ERP systems and related change management responsibility.
• A proven track record in implementing and managing SLA’s with key suppliers
• Systems development experience including experience with full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodology
• Ideally large corporate conglomerate experience, with a track record of successful delivery and quality management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• In-depth understanding of IT technology.
• Experience and thorough understanding of change management processes.
• An understanding of the concept of value based management (value creation).
• An understanding of the COBIT philosophy and ITIL processes.
• Knowledge of suppliers (viability and reliability)
• Sound understanding of general business processes
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Self-confident communicator focused on driving results
