Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven candidate to take up the role of Operations Manager – Broiler Farms.

Key Performance Areas

• Overall management of the farms to optimise broiler performance
• Endeavour to achieve production targets in all aspects
• Monitor health and welfare of birds at all times and take appropriate action where needed
• Ensure contractual obligations are met with farm managers and external contract growers
• Co-ordinate and manage catching and transport of live birds
• Administer Polynet and Flock management systems
• Ensure Health and Safety standard are adhered to
• Weekly and monthly management reporting
• Drafting of SOP’s
• Skills and Compliance training of the staff and contractors
• Stakeholder management
• Responsible for all aspects of risk management related to the role
• Ad-hoc duties

Required Qualifications / Experience
• Grade 12
• Tertiary qualification in Animal Production or relevant field of study
• At least 10 years’ experience in broiler rearing and growing
• Microsoft Excel
• Good knowledge of ISO and HACAAP standards
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Good analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to interact across different management levels
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
