A well-established footwear factory in Pietermaritzburg, KZN is looking to appoint an Operations Manager who must be qualified as an Industrial Engineer to oversee the production and technical activities of the factory. This senior position will involve the overseeing of the footwear production while ensuring the manufacturing plant is running smoothly and optimally to meet the expectations of top management and shareholders.
The successful candidate would also supervise and direct the technical personnel responsible for every stage of production to ensure manufacturing of a high quality and cost effective product.
The person should devise efficient ways to use workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make better products and improve processes. Daily responsibility will be focused on, but not limited to safety, quality, manufacturing, model integration, and supporting strategic goals of top management.
Minimum requirements: Matric with a related tertiary industrial engineering qualification and relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment of at least 5 to 8 years.
The factory adheres to ISO quality standards and systems and a sound knowledge thereof will be advantageous, as well as some experience in a footwear production environment.
