JOB PURPOSE
Oversight of all operational aspects including manufacturing, distribution, customer service, administration and sales in accordance with the company’s objectives. 1. Sales and Marketing Management – KZN Region • Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities
• Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration for the region.
• Oversee the activities and performance of the branch sales team
• Liaise with support functions to ensure achievement of regional sales objectives
• Assist with the development of sales presentations and proposals
• Assist in the maintenance of and inventory control for region.
• Conduct market research; competitor and customer analysis for region.
• Analyse data to identify sales opportunities for region.
• Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales revenue for region.
• Monitor the achievement of regional sales objectives by the sales team
• Collate branch sales reports and report to NSM
• Monitor and assess customer feedback
• Investigate lost sales and customer accounts
• Track, collate and interpret sales figures
• Share knowledge with other branches on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.
2. Customer/Client Relationship – KZN Region • Maintain proactive, dynamic and effective communication with customers always.
• Offer flexible and helpful customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly.
3. Budget Management – KZN Region • Setting and reviewing branch budgets and managing cost.
• Control and monitor expense budgets
• Drive operations cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
4. Operations Management – KZN Operations • Contribute to short- and long-term organizational planning and strategy for branch activity
• Implement and manage operational plans
• Work with operations manager to achieve Operations Excellence targets.
• Ensure proper business controls are implemented and adhered to.
• Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, purchasing and distribution of goods
• Communicating with all the relevant people/departments and coordinating all relevant inputs (people, plant and processes) to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved and cost effective.
• Oversee that the operations team floor has the necessary manpower, competence, skill, knowledge, plant and tooling required to achieve production targets.
• Manage and oversee the coordination of all elements of the order fulfilment process, from order to shipping of goods.
• Oversee maintenance and control of all branch assets.
5. Leadership/HR • Establish goals and objectives for self and team and implement accordingly to help support / improve job performance (experience, ability, competence).
• Ensure all recruitment and employment is carried out in accordance with company procedures Delegate tasks and accountabilities
• Conduct and record annual performance appraisals
• Provide feedback, support and coaching to the branch employees.
• Ensure that appropriate skill levels are developed in staff to allow good business practice.
• Address any staff discipline or grievance issue, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures
• Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Matric/Grade 12
Degree in Business Administration or Related Professional Qualification preferable
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
3-5 years’ experience as a Branch Manager
5 years’ technical sales and sales management experience
Clinical/ Pharmaceutical experience (Advantageous)
Experience of managing a production facility (Advantageous)
