SYNOPSIS:
Management experience in a manufacturing environment where WCM and ISO practices are well entrenched.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Matric
• Engineering Degree/Diploma (preferably mechanical/electrical)
• In possession of a GCC (Government certificate of competence)
• Post graduate business qualification would be advantageous

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum of 5-10 years management experience in a manufacturing environment where WCM and ISO practices are well entrenched;
• Extensive WCM experience, with a minimum of a Yellow Belt
• Proven ability to contribute meaningfully to integrated SOP processes.
• Knowledge and experience in the application of all safety, environmental and labour related legislation
• Experience in strategic planning and execution
• Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
• Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations
• Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organisation
• Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects
• Exceptional professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Structured and organised approach to tasks
• Experience in Project management

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Develop plans to improve the business manufacturing & technical performance and ensure sustainable competitive edge.
• Deliver production output as per sales demand/budget plan
• Develop suitable tools to continuously monitor and improve Plant KPIs (such as Safety, OEE, schedule adherence, OTIF, Cost Control)
• Manage WCM route map to drive the Business forward.
• Provide strategic input to the Company’s Business plans
• Formal & informal meetings with EXCO members to help craft strategic intent for South Africa and Southern Africa.
• Give input on global strategy
• Assist with the implementation of Company’s strategic decisions
• Provide strong and focussed leadership ensuring appropriate manufacturing culture
• Build, manage and develop a highly motivated and professional team who can rise to meet the demands of a fast-paced challenging business environment whilst also ensuring the site meets demanding financial, production and customer service and quality targets.
• Promote and support cross site networks to achieve consistency across all Company’s sites
• Ensure that there is a clear set of action plans and objectives for each departmental manager with clear resources and budgets to achieve
• Provide the framework for managing and controlling overhead expenses
• Plan, control and execute CAPEX decisions, with continuous follow up
• Oversee operations and R&D to include evaluation and improvement of operating and financial performance
• Monitor transactions, claim liability and legal rights and obligations and ensure legal compliance
• Maintain, develop and deliver the appropriate safety, quality and environmental improvement culture
