An extraordinary opportunity has become available for a heavy-weight Operations Manager. With a flair for commercial finance, you will be part of this successful business’s growth strategy towards becoming the next COO. Our trusted client is involved in the manufacturing and design industry. The role reports to the Managing Director (a qualified Chartered Accountant) with a dotted line to the Production Manager and you will be responsible for 6 direct reports (reporting staff all team leader / supervisor and managerial level). Demonstrable, strong people management skills and with large retail client liaison experience essential. The successful incumbent will have 8 - 10 years management experience.
Qualification:
BComm or BTech as a minimum requirement - Warehousing and logistics specialty studies beneficial but not essential
Skills & Experience:
Strong project management skills
Financial acumen and ability to collect, analyze and interpret financial data
Computer literacy - MS Excel (Intermediate), MS Word, Outlook, MS PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Accpac and Pastel Evolution
Ability to negotiate and sustain good networking relationships
Must be proactive and forward thinking
Ability to effectively interact with internal and external partners at a high level of integrity
Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and a team-oriented approach
Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions
Warehouse, receiving and dispatching experience is essential - must be familiar with this environment
Manufacturing background with import / export experience is a MUST
Negotiating with suppliers and manage supplier auditing requirements
Must have experience in company sustainability projects
Essential strong project management and workflow design experience
