Operations Supervisor – Cargo and Catering

Educational Requirements:
Matric
Must have relevant tertiary qualifications

Experience Requirements:
Must hold a valid driver’s license
Must be computer literate
Must have knowledge of Compu-Clearing (Domestic and Regional)
Must have knowledge of Cargo Spot and/or alternative Airline System
Must be familiar with Customs Procedures
Must have experience in warehouse procedures
Knowledge of CAA rules and regulations
Must have Dangerous Goods Category 6 certificate
Cargo 1 and 2 training
Live Animal Regulations Training
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have a good knowledge of MS Office

Responsibilities:
Cargo
Ensuring preparation of all documentation for outgoing flights, i.e. airwaybills, flight manifests custom forms, CAA and other government requirements regarding DGR, HUM, AVI, etc. are met.
Assist with the loading of special cargo i.e. outsized cargo, DGR, HUM, AVI etc at the aircraft.
Assist customer care with cargo queries
Ensure that the drivers are scheduled correctly to ensure maximum optimization, and flights are serviced timeously.
Check drivers time-keeping
Ensure that all drivers permits, and vehicle licences, etc are up to date
Ensure that all drivers complete the daily vehicle check lists, and address any irregularities
Ensure that all vehicle maintenance is kept up to date
Control and lead all Ops controllers (warehouse, canteen and OCC)
Oversee the complete cargo logistics function
Oversee the handling of companies cargo by the handling company
Implement and monitor that all Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
Ensure that all accounting paper work and reports are delivered timeously to the correct departments.
Assist the staff at the branches where and when necessary
Catering
Ensure that the drivers, controllers and packers are scheduled correctly to ensure maximum optimization, and flights are serviced timeously.
Ensure that all stock orders are placed with the suppliers
Manage and ensure that the staff comply with the relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
Manage and monitor catering quality, usage, returns and dumps.
Liaise with Cabin Crew on changes
Investigate catering complaints, and provide feedback
Ensure that all admin work is kept up to date.
Ensure that all flights are stripped, and returns put through the system for accounting purposes
Ensure that the controllers communicate all aircraft swaps, technical aircraft, bay swaps, etc. with the drivers.
Ensure that a stock take is done weekly/monthly (as per the procedures)
Ensure that stock for the branches is sent weekly as per their orders
Assist the staff at the branches where and when necessary.
Do unplanned checks of the aircraft to ensure that the drivers are following the correct procedures.
To act in the capacity of the Manager when he/she is away from the company
Responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with company standards and occupational Health and Safety Standards
Will assist with any additional tasks within the context of the job description
Will attend training as and when instructed to do so

Addition:
Salary is R15 000 – R17 000 per month depending on experience
Must have strong leadership qualities
Willing to work weekends and Public Holidays (if required)
