Position: Operator – IT Industry
Type: Permanent position
Area: Midrand in Gauteng (stable growing company in IT industry)
Remuneration: R8000 – R10 000 p/m (Includes benefits)

Requirements

• Completed matric and IT diploma of qualification *(Maths HG)
• Networking - CCNA level
Networking experience (at least 1 – 2 years in similar role)
• Microsoft Windows server - MCP level
Basic knowledge of Linux systems
Advanced Excel and Word skills

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)

• Network operation & system monitoring for clients
• Act on alarms & commands or messages on monitors
• Perform system admin tasks & maintain database of monitored objects
• Health checks & compilation of reports.
• Awareness of a wide spectrum of IT technologies.

Health Checks: First line support offered.
• Relevant engineer notified ASAP of problem areas/ keep engineer informed
• Improvements to health checks made on an ongoing basis.

Monitor outsourced clients
• Monitor client's infrastructure according to SLA
• Respond to exceptions according to SLA.

Administration
• Admin according to client SLA.
• Update client & engineer of changes
• Daily/Weekly/Monthly QA reports completed.
• Action discrepancies in QA report

Reporting-
• Standard report - on request.
• Stress & unit report - monthly basis.

Testing
• Patch and/or "hot fix" release testing
• New & current systems testing compared

Client premises: Workstation neat & equipment in good working condition
Teamwork: • RT system maintained, constructive feedback & mutual respect for colleagues & clients
Timekeeping- Strictly adhere to timelines – meetings/ appointments/ deadlines
Reception & Manager informed of whereabouts
