Our client, a fast-paced ophthalmic practice is looking to hire an Ophthlamic Assistant for their rooms based in Northcliff. We will only consider candidates with the correct qualifications.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in Nursing/Optometrist/Ophthalmic Assistance is absolutely NON-NEGOTIABLE
• Experience in imaging preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY:

• Assisting with consultation: Visual acuity testing, dilation and appropriate special investigations (ie. imaging and visual fields)
• Preparation for procedures (ie. laser therapy sessions)
• Preparing and assisting with intravitreal injections
• Patient preparation for cataract surgery, and all necessary pre- and post-op phone calls)
• Preparing theatre lists and intraocular lens consignment
• Biometry
• Rooms hygeine and sterile packs
• Stock take and orders
• Emergency trolley checks
• Booking of appointments

REMUNERATION AND WORKING HOURS:

• Salary is negotiable, and dependent on qualifications and experience
• Hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00am - 17:00pm (no weekends and public holidays)
