Main purpose of the jobTo be responsible for a profitable and professional cleaning service in a geographic area and to ensure client satisfaction/ business retention whilst upholding the company policies and procedures.Education and experience required:MatricPost school education would be added an advantageMinimum seven (7) years management experience in cleaning industry or similar service industry is essential Exposure to selling of a service advantageous Exposure to Industrial Relations on a shop floor level Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required:Good numeric and administrative skillsGood planning, leading, negotiation and organisational skillsGood interpersonal skillsWell groomedProactive and takes initiativeExcellent people management skillsComputer literate (MS Office)Valid driver’s licenseAbility to work flexible hours as required Key areas of responsibilities: To ensure that the facility adheres to all requirements in line with statutory Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Compass Code of Business Conduct Responsible for compliance with all the regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or any other regulation or Act that might refer to the matter of safety. Monitor the costs to ensure that the labour budget is not exceeded without the Regional Manager’s/Regional General Manager’s or General Manager’s authority and the necessary variation instruction is raised. The Regional Director’s, Regional General Manager’s or General Manager’s authority must be obtained for this to take place. Key areas of responsibilities contd:Adequate control of all the vehicle information concerning the vehicles which the respective Regional Manager is responsible for to ensure those vehicles are operating cost effectively Ensuring that the correct implementation of the Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure is in place in the Region To appraise staff by way of verbal direction and performance appraisal for supervisory level and above. To adhere to Company policy and procedure (retrenchment, promotion, etc.) To prepare contingency plan for strikes and stay-away. Attend weekly wage meetings, in order to resolve age/operational problems/queries. Responsible for all engagements, pay rate changes, dismissals, authorized by the Regional Manager, and ensuring that the necessary documents are completed. To carry out regular inspections at all sites and review and analyse complaints received. To attend regular meetings with major clients. Where these meetings need to be minute, this to be done and copies of the minutes distributed. All problems to receive prompt action. Continually look for ways of improving client contact and promote the Company’s full range of non-recurring business (specials) also with a view to selling the Company’s full range of services. Ensure adequate controls over all equipment, including cellular phones, in accordance with fixed asset policies and procedures. Responsible for the on-going training and development needs of all staff by identify areas where training and development is needed and bring these to the Human Resources Manager’s/Training Manager’s attention. Authorise, initial and distribute all variation instructions affecting the Region and Chair monthly meetings with all Area Managers and compile and distribute minutes thereof. Totally responsible for the achievements of the Sales Budget in the respective geographic Region. Liaise with Sales to ensure that Sales staff achieve the recurring revenue growth allowed for in the respective Regional Manager’s budget.
