Join a national telecoms company as an Ops Manager: Radio Network Engineering. You will manage the Planning environment to enable customers to communicate.

Key Responsibilities

Implement Operational Plans
• Compile and interpret operational plans.
• Monitor operations.

Manage Performance
• Set performance standards, monitor progress and implement corrective actions.

Implement Conducive/Legislative Environment
• Determine and execute actions, interpret intervention plan, monitor results and provide feedback.

Manage Resources
• Identify required and available resources, source and allocate resources.
• Implement cost-effective operational systems.

Provide Care for Customers and Suppliers (internal and external)
• Schedule time scales with project manager and customer.
• Provide equipment forecast.
• Handle technical information and queries.

Manage Planning of Transmission / Radio & Microwave Network / Equipment
• Analyse and evaluate existing infrastructure.
• Initiate training programmes.
• Complete program of projects and associated budget.
• Manage equipment requirements

Conduct Feasibility Study
• Arrange/attend customer site meetings.
• Determine telecommunications infrastructure to be applied.
• Compile and submit feasibility study report.

Process Application
• Validate and record applications.
• Determine customer needs and initiate project.

Compile High Level Capital Budget
• Analyse business plan.
• Compile and communicate budget.


Special requirements
• Knowledge of OHSA.
• Able to work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s licence
• Able to work outside normal working hours
• Ability to travel or stay out overnight

Minimum Qualifications

• Relevant 3-year Degree / National Diploma (at least NQF level 6).
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in an Engineering / Telecoms environment.
