We are looking for a Oracle Database Administrator with 4 to 5 years experience and a Oracle certification
Duties
- Day to day maintenance of Oracle database environment
- Supporting the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security
- To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure minimum downtime
- Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the Oracle databases
- Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases, including upgrades
- Responsible for implementation and release of database changes
- Providing technical database and performance advice to development teams
- Database capacity management
- General database troubleshooting
- DBA standby/overtime duties
Qualifications and experience
- IT degree / Diploma
- Oracle certification OCP in Oracle 10g
- 4-5 years relevant Oracle DBA experience
- Oracle certification, preferably OCP, in Oracle 10g or above
- Experience in managing multiple databases on large systems
- A good understanding of physical database design
- Excellent knowledge of oracle backup and recovery scenarios
- Experience in monitoring and tuning databases
- PL/SQL Preferred Technical Competencies:
- Oracle 11g
- Backup and Recovery
- Working knowledge of Unix
- Experience with Oracle Advanced Security and Oracle Advanced Compression
- Experience in using Oracle Enterprise Manager
