BI Analyst working in the PBT Managed Services team performing analysis, design and development of end-to-end business intelligence solutions for business users supported by the Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) team.
New development and support form part of the role, and predominantly make use of SQL and PL/SQL procedures to create and maintain data for a variety of requirements to the rest of the business.
It’s also expected to build relationships and work with subject matter experts from other business areas on an on-going basis to understand the data from their respective areas.
Work delivery is governed by the Agile project development processes to ensure quality outputs for business use or for reporting or analytics use.
- Perform Data Analysis as required
- Develop data marts using Oracle PL/SQL.
- Ensure effective and quality reporting and functional analytics is delivered to the business clients to facilitate effective decision making
- Interpret data and develop relevant recommendations based on data analysis findings
- Ensure delivery of validated information and reporting to business users.
- Work consistently according to standard operating procedures
- Analyse situations and take necessary action to ensure quality is maintained
Expected Requirements:
Education:
Information Systems/Engineering qualification/ Relevant Business Degree or experience
BI Development Technologies
- 2 or more years of experience with relational database technologies using SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL
- Oracle OBIEE repository development and implementation would be advantageous.
Experience:
- At least 2-4 years of experience of reporting and data analytics in a business intelligence environment
- Oracle SQL training and certification will be advantageous
- Worked in environments with large data volumes
- Good understanding of all aspects of BI and Information Management processes.
- Good working knowledge of 1 or more business areas like Marketing, Customer Relations, Sales, Finance etc. preferably in the Mobile Telecommunications industry
