Purpose of the job

This role entails helping with the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees' skills, enabling them to fulfil their potential within their organization. The successful candidate will be required to be strategic rather than reactive, assessing the skills and knowledge within an organisation and determining what training is needed to grow and retain these skills.

Duties and reponsibilities:
• Identifying training and development needs within an organisation through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers
• Designing and expanding training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual
• Considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets as assessing the return on investment of any training or development programme is becoming increasingly important
• Devising individual learning plans
• Producing training materials for in-house courses
• Managing the delivery of training and development programmes and, in a more senior role, devising a training strategy for the organisation
• Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers
• Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met
• Evaluating training and development programmes
• Amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
• Researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting this research
• Responsible for creating and implementing training programs and overseeing the development of career
• Sets performance metrics, evaluates productivity, and helps workers create long-term career plans within an organization

• The ideal candidate will have the following desirable skills and experience:
• Experience of designing and delivering Skills Development/ Management Development Training/ 360 Feedback Training is essential
• Experience of training within a contact center environment is desirable
• Assessor qualifications would be advantageous
• Good understanding of the South African qualification framework
• Experience of classroom based training, POE’s and providing continuous on floor support
• Post-graduation with specialization in human resources or industrial psychology
• 3yrs in OD/ Talent development/ Change management
• Exposure to group facilitation

• Ability to create and provide statically information which provides feedback detailing the course effectiveness
• Keep abreast of developments in the field, implement new & innovative approaches
• Interpersonal skills, working with internal & external stakeholders to ensure delivery
Willing to potentially work non-standard hours
