A South African company rooted in the development and manufacturing of botanical extracts, complementary medicines and food & beverage product solutions are seeking an exceptional individual with experience in manufacturing tablets and capsules in the Pharmaceutical industry.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports the production of tablets and capsules (working within a team of operators, supervisors, technicians and engineers) by constantly monitoring the production equipment and plant systems, perform the necessary preventive and corrective maintenance in order to minimize efficiency losses and investigate and solve quality related issues.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 7 years technical experience on tablet presses and encapsulation machines in a cGMP operations environment.
• Applicants need to have excellent troubleshooting skills and possess the ability to analyse problems rationally, provide solutions and implement actions within cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
• Prepare equipment by performing sanitized cleaning-in-place (CIP), servicing-in-place (SIP), cleaning out-of-place (COP) and preventive maintenance checks
• Detect processing irregularities and resolve technical issues
• Consistently deliver high quality tablets and capsules in a compliant, efficient and cost effective manner
• Perform the necessary preventive and corrective actions in order to minimise efficiency losses and investigate and solve quality related issues.
• Oversee and perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure applicable equipment and systems are maintained in a compliant state; mainly but not limited to granulators, fluid bed dryers, mixers, blenders, tablet presses, encapsulation machines and pharmaceutical packaging line equipment.
• Identify revisions, deletions, or additions to the maintenance programs to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with established safety, cGMP and maintenance procedures.
• Develop, write and/or revise preventive maintenance work orders, department standard operation procedures, and equipment/system work instructions.
• Assist in the identification and selection of replacement equipment, software and instrumentation for existing systems and equipment.
• Provide training to other site personnel on technical equipment/instruments
• Effectively communicate technical issues related to site unit operations and instruments

• All incidents must be reported as referenced in the applicable work instruction.
COMPLIANCE WITH GOOD HOUSEKEEPING
• Supervise and monitor good housekeeping practices within the production
environment.
• Take prompt action to address and correct any bad housekeeping and out-of-
line situations within production.
COMPLIANCE WITH GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICE (GMP)
• Ensure that you wear the protective clothing / equipment as required within
Production & Laboratory
• Report any out-of-line situations regarding GMP to the Production Pharmacist.
• Co-operate during internal audits, self-inspections or any other audit activities.
• Co-operate and assist when necessary during validation procedures.
• Ensure that all relevant cleaning logs and registers are completed after
conducting cleaning of the packing facilities and equipment.
