Our client, a leading exporter of Citrus and Table Grapes is seeking a Pack Line Trainee / Intern from November 2017.

The internship will be geared towards developing specific skills and abilities over three to five years to enable the intern to eventually manage a citrus pack line and / or table grape packing in a packhouse.

The following core skills will be developed:

• Packaging planning and scheduling
• Optimal pack-out percentages
• Quality control and food safety
• Team-building, motivation and management
• Time and production management

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. B.Agric or a National Diploma in Farming Management)
• Computer Literacy (MS Office)
• Planning and organisational skills
• Communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to work irregular and long hours (required in the citrus / table grape packing industry)
• Background in fruit production (advantageous)
• Background in a fruit packhouse (advantageous)
• Production focus and technical aptitude (advantageous)
• Management potential – second phase of internship (advantageous)

Salary on offer: R 4 000 – R 6 000 p/m (includes housing)
