Permanent Management Level position in the Food Industry

Role priorities
The Packaging Manager’s prime responsibility is to ensure that company international packaging not only conforms to the necessary regulatory packaging requirements but also aligns and delivers on the international packaging strategy. This involves developing and executing packaging guidelines to manage packaging partners globally, as well as taking the lead to project manage all packaging NPDs and Projects.
The packaging manager will also be responsible to keep the business abreast on insight into new technology and packaging regulations both mandatory and non-mandatory on a global level.

Key responsibilities
• Relevant work experience in product development, manufacturing, process control, quality control and project management
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Outlining requirements for labelling and packaging to management
• Analyse and determine all standards for packaging lines and ensure compliance to all requirements
• Monitor and recommend improvements to increase efficiency of packaging, packaging into shipping containers and prepare the documents for these processes.
• Coordinate with quality assurance and regulatory to ensure adherence to all manufacturing standards
• Monitor, evaluate and audit all suppliers packaging equipment and supplies
• Continuous improvement on all packaging and labeling products and business touch points
• Maintain an inventory of materials in a central database
• Manage completion of all projects within strict timelines and quality standards
• Handle and resolve all packaging and label matters with quality departments.
• Recommend ways to reduce cost and improve quality of all processes and provide necessary training and consultations to resources as required.
• Develop and maintains professional relationships with all external vendors and contractors in order to improve efficiency through incorporation of the latest technology.
• Ensuring packaging products meet set requirements and specifications.
• Prepare, share and maintain Product Data Sheet database for all products

Experience
• Previous primary and secondary packaging roles, with exposure to manufacturing environment handling multiple substrates and detailed designs.
• Project management skills to handle high level of detail under stringent timelines
• Minimum of 5 year experience in similar role.
• Blue Chip company background preferred.

Qualification and skillset
• Ability to travel internationally
• Ability to work autonomously
• Food degree background preferred with a minimum of 5 years experience
• Experience in working in multi country environment
• Passion for innovation
• Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
