Seeking Paediatric ICU Registered Nurses with minimum of 5 years Paediatrics ICU experience to join this busy Paediatric ICU unit focusing mainly on cardiothoracic patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• As an RN – PICU you will contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Communicating effectively with patients’ family regarding their care
• Promote patient health and wellbeing
• Practice the principles of infection prevention and all Standard precautions
• Execute all procedures according to Hospital standards
• Adhere to all Hospital policies and principles
• Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act
• Work effectively and cooperatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial
• Manage acuity and skill mix to ensure an appropriate level of care.

Requirements:

• Be SANC Registration as a Registered Nursing
• Have Neonatal ICU or Paediatrics ICU experience
• Post basic in Paediatric ICU will be advantageous.
• Have Cardiothoracic experience
• Be able to work independently and know what to do when a complication arises.
• Be competent in Tracheostomy care
• Be ventilator competent – Able to adjust vent & vent techs
• Can read blood gas & act accordingly.
