Description: A company producing recycled-based packaging and industrial paper requires an Electrical Engineer to join their team. The key duties will include but is not limited to: oversee technicians; assist with breakdowns; project management and implementation; develop electrical distribution systems for large industrial applications; perform system calculations and studies for electrical power systems (load flow, voltage drop, motor starting, short circuit studies, and relay coordination studies); develop test requirements and assist in electrical equipment checkout and start up; review and check all assigned project electrical installation drawings for compliance; assist in development of project schedules and manpower requirements; ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements; operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks; coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation or testing activities; design, implement, maintain or improve electrical equipment or systems; prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment; investigate customer or public complaints and recommend remedial measures; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget; review and improve Planned Maintenance Program to ensure scheduled work is completed; advise personnel and liaise with contractors on planned maintenance; investigate and compile an action plan to prevent reoccurrence of problems; recruit personnel; maintain and implement all relevant instructions and risk assessments; administration duties; implement and enforce all SHEQ policies, procedures and standards. Key Requirements: BEng Electrical Engineering compulsory, higher degree will be advantageous. At least 5 years’ experience. Pulp and paper qualification and ICDL certification will be advantageous. Valid Driver’s licence and own transport for standby duties.

Additional Requirements: ECSA registration will be beneficial. Must not be colour blind. No fear of working at heights. Must be able to lift and handle 20 kg in a plant environment.
