Our client is a recognized global leader; a South African distributor of Global Premium Brands (new and used equipment) in the Agriculture, Mineral Processing, Earth Moving and Materials Handling Industries offering multiple career advancement opportunities.

They currently have an opportunity for a Parts Manager to manage the Parts Department. The successful incumbent will have prior experience in a purchasing environment.

Position details:

Managing parts stock control (ensuring the right products are ordered and available) and ensuring parts availability of 95%

Ordering of all parts required for the Handling business local or international

Distribution and allocation of all parts between the Handling branches

Negotiating parts pricing from both Hyster and local suppliers

Formulating and adopting parts selling price along with senior management

Managing van stock from all regions

Ensuring that parts return shipment to Hyster is done annually

Implementing new systems to improve parts ordering and distribution

Implementing better controls for parts distribution to technicians

Driving “genuine parts campaign” on Hyster products

Visiting all Handling branches and regions to ensure controls are in place

Negotiate prices with suppliers

Drive warehouse processes as it relates to purchasing

Purchase against back orders and counter sales

Maintain and update price list on the system

Annual report on obsolete stock and return to supplier

Maintain master data as it relates to purchasing on the system

Weekly stock order report and placement of orders

Sea freight stock ordering on time, within specification and cost

Weekly feedback to parts on back orders

Monitor inventory levels and maintain availability

Monitor obsolete stock level

Follow up and resolve account queries

Run emergency order report as required

Facilitate interbranch/plant stock transfers

Replenishment of all branches and storage locations

Effective and timeous communication with suppliers and internal customers

Process and follow up supplier claims and queries

Job Qualification & Experience:
Grade 12

2 years in purchasing environment
