Our client, a successful investment company is looking for a Payroll Accountant.

Experience and qualifications required
• An appropriate tertiary qualification: B.Comm Accounting
• Experience: Minimum 5 years’ working experience on a payroll and HR systems
• VIP HR Premier experience essential
• Experience in financial services environment will be advantageous.

Competencies required:
• Software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint
• Sound knowledge and experience in payroll (VIP) and HR Information systems (VIP HR Premier and ESS) processing.
• Sound knowledge and experience of PAYE and statutory compliance and understanding of employee benefits.
• Sound knowledge and experience of payroll reconciliation processes.
• Knowledge of Labour Legislation, specifically Skills Development, Employment Equity and BCEA, and Tax regulations as it relates to remuneration practices.

• Mid-year and tax year-end SARS reconciliations and submissions

• Preparing monthly salaries provisions
• Preparing monthly payroll reconciliations and clearing all reconciling items timeously
• Preparing and updating the monthly salary forecast
• Preparing payroll cash books for group companies and related staff trusts
• Administrating investment entities’
- Investments and Disinvestments
- Buy back / issue of shares
- Repayment obligations
- Preparing dividend statements/letters
- IT3b statements
• Preparing salary increase letters
• Remchannel administration
- Upload file preparation
- Attending Remchannel meetings
- Assigning and maintaining appropriate job codes for staff
• Knowledge of Accounting System (Accpac or other)
• Knowledge of personal income tax advantageous
