RedCat Recruitment is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced PAYROLL CONTROLLER / MANAGER for a large national concern – position based in Cape Town.


REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). Must have advanced MS Excel skills.
Payroll Diploma.
Financial qualification (advantageous).
7 - 8 years’ experience in a payroll/financial environment.
Experience in human resources administration.
Person will be responsible to ensure monthly payroll reconciliations meets the standards set by the audit control framework and effective administration processes are in place and adhered to.
Acts as super-user of the payroll system and responsible to train and up-skill payroll clerks.
Review and check all changes/variations within the payroll system and review all engagements, terminations and any documentation in relation to employee changes on the system.
Responsible for payroll reporting to various stakeholders within the business.
Performs a high-level view of payroll administration data for obvious errors, omissions and inconsistencies (data-integrity).
Receives and checks pay-period reports prior to uploading EFT files to the bank and acts as the final internal control before the files are released.
Uploads EFT files to bank for all pay groups (fortnightly and monthly).
Manage all payroll queries and reviews all unresolved queries on a daily basis, ensuring they are speedily resolved in line with the SLA.
Ensures customer service standards are in line with the SOP's.
Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders at the different business entities.
Provide adequate feedback/instruction to the payroll clerks regarding payroll queries and actions required.
Document new procedures and guidelines for the payroll system.
Responsible for across the group EMP501 mid-year and tax-year end reconciliations for submission.
Responsible for annual legislative submissions such as WCA Return of Earnings and ensuring all required documentation for all entities are on file.
Responsible for third party summary reports to be sent to relevant service providers.
Monthly employee leave liability provisions.
